We are currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Real Estate Paralegal to join our Real Estate Department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with attorneys, clients, lenders, and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
Position Summary
The Real Estate Paralegal will provide administrative, clerical, and legal support to attorneys while assisting with all aspects of real estate transactions and file management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Communication
- Communicate regularly with clients and keep them informed throughout the transaction process.
- Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Coordinate appointments, document signings, and closing schedules.
- Legal and Transactional Support
- Prepare and review real estate closing documents.
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and settlement-related paperwork.
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, municipalities, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Review title commitments and assist in resolving title issues.
- Order and track payoff statements, municipal certificates, and other required documentation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing files for residential and commercial real estate closings.
- Ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Case and File Management
- Open and maintain client files from inception through closing.
- Scan, save, and organize documents within the firm’s document management system.
- Track deadlines, contingencies, and important transaction milestones.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, closings, and related appointments.
- Monitor file status and provide attorneys with timely updates.
Qualifications
- Prior paralegal experience, preferably in real estate law.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management/document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
