What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026-2027 Licensed Vocational Nurse position at Silsbee Independent School District?
Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
Valid LVN to practice in Texas for the State Board of Nurse Examiners
CPR Certification
Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening.
Experience: Two years nursing experience, preferably in community health
Illustrative Duties:
- Serve as health advocate for students
- Administer medications according to district policy and procedures.
- Establish and implement effective procedures for mandatory screening programs.
- Serve as health liaison between school, physicians, parents, and community.
- Communicate regularly with principal, health services coordinator, school counselor, teacher, parents, food service, and other staff regarding health services issues.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including clinic records and accurate, updated health records on all students.
