Qualifications
Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License. Building Level Administrator License preferred. Applicants must possess effective leadership and management skills, with a proven background of experiences at the building and/or district level. At least five years of athletic experience is required. Both building-level (principal) and/or district-level administrator experience is preferred.

Duties of Athletic Director
The Athletic Director shall have the responsibility for the coordination and general supervision of the athletic activities of the secondary schools in the District, working closely with the head coaches, school administrators, and central office staff in planning and operation of the Athletic Department.
Some specific duties of the Athletic Director are:
- To assure that all athletic events conform to the rules and regulations of the District, State, and the Arkansas Activities Association. The Athletic Director will also insure that all participants meet eligibility requirements.
- To work closely with all coaches involved in any event scheduling and have the final approval of all athletic scheduling. The Athletic Director will coordinate the schedules with the principals, Assistant Superintendent for Operations and the Superintendent.
- To assist the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for Operations and principals in providing leadership in the implementation of good sportsmanship policies, to solicit the support of fans in maintaining good sportsmanship, and to insure that all athletic participants exhibit good sportsmanship.
- To coordinate transportation requests for trips to athletic AAA sanctioned and non-sanctioned events.
- To have overall responsibility for the maintenance and operation of all athletic facilities, conjunction with the Director or Maintenance and Assistant Superintendent, in the District.
- To coordinate, approve, and maintain a master schedule of the use of athletic facilities.
- To coordinate, with principals, the selection and evaluation of personnel involved in the athletic programs.
- To prepare a detailed and comprehensive annual budget for the programs of the District. This budget is to be reviewed and approved by the Superintendent.
- To process and approve all requisitions for expenditures, to maintain budget control of expenditures and receipts, to process invoices and checks, and maintain an accurate record of all such incomes and expenses for each athletic program. To obtain the best value possible in all purchases and take competitive bids.
- To supervise the purchasing, distribution, selling, and accounting of tickets for home events.
- To arrange for event officials and other necessary personnel at home athletic AAA events.
- To be responsible for contracts for athletic events and game officials.
- To arrange for supervision of crowds and the security of school property at all home athletic events.
- To maintain accurate inventory and records for all supplies and equipment.
- To arrange for programs, publications, and publicity for AAA athletic events.
- To work with booster clubs and assist with their functions.
- To approve, monitor, and maintain records of all Booster Clubs and/or fund raising.
- To consistently develop partnerships throughout the community to support all athletic programs.
- To supervise the student insurance programs.
- To plan, organize, and maintain records all student physicals.
- To supervise and maintain a relationship with medical provider(s) to provide athletic training services for the district’s athletes.
- To organize and monitor all professional development for athletic staff.
- To coordinate, with principals, the coaches’ request to attend coaching clinics.
- To assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Operations in maintaining long term facility plans.
- To strive for constant improvement in all phases of the athletic program.
- To represent the school district in all athletic business for the District, Conferences, and State meetings.
- To maintain permanent records for all sports, including team record, individual records, lettering records, awards, and pictures.
- To prepare, keep, and share a calendar of school athletic events with all administrators, coaches, sponsors, booster clubs, news media, etc.
- To develop, maintain, and monitor athletic department and individual sport social media.
- To embed him/herself into the fabric of the Siloam Springs community.
- To promote the Siloam Springs Athletic Department, Coaches and Athletes on the local, state and national level.
- To develop and implement a plan for community partnerships for development of facilities and other athletic department needs.
The Athletic Director shall be evaluated by the Superintendent or designee. The Athletic
Director will be responsible to and perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
