What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative Learning Paraprofessional Grades 9-12 position at Siloam Springs School District?
POSITION TITLE: Grades 9-12 Alternative Learning Paraprofessional
FLSA: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: ALE Principal/ALE Instructor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- At least one (1) of the following:
o Two (2) years of college credit
o An Associate’s Degree or higher
o Evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted
Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
- Desire to support students’ social/emotional/behavioral success through evidence based practices at school
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185-day contract with benefits according to Siloam Springs School
District Board Policies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Work under the direction of the alternative learning principal to provide the following:
- Behavioral support for students who may be aggressive or disruptive
- Social/Emotional/Behavioral support that assist students in achieving curricular standards and goals
- Collaborative responsibility with alternative education staff for student success
- Administrative Assistant support as needed
- Classroom support as needed
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain confidentiality
- Present and communicate in a professional manner
- Other duties as assigned by administration and alternative learning classroom teacher
