Silktown Roofing is currently hiring an Estimator based out of our Derby, CT or Glastonbury, CT office. If you are team oriented, success-focused, and have either a couple years of construction estimating experience or greater than 10 years of estimating experience, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Organize, analyze and interpret drawings and specifications and other bid documents.
• Provide clear detailed quantity take offs.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Prepare estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Solicit and organize sub-contractors’ quotations during bid process.
• Maintain subcontractor database.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5 years of experience estimating within the construction industry: commercial roofing experience preferred. Someone with less experience may be considered.
• Experience using sophisticated estimating software; experience with The EDGE is a plus.
• Ability to analyze information, estimate and plan.
• Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals a plus.
• Knowledge of computers, especially experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiar with standard deliverables and work process on projects.
• Detail oriented, strong interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to effectively plan and organize own activities.
