Position: Maintenance Technician (Tier 3)Location: St. Charles, ILShift Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | Monday-FridaySummary:The Tier 3 Maintenance Technician is a senior-level maintenance professional responsible for advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of complex manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role serves as a technical expert, supports continuous improvement, leads root cause analysis, and ensures optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.Key Responsibilities:Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systemsMentor and support lower-tier maintenance technicians through training and technical guidanceLead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actionsProgram, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks accurately and on scheduleRead and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manualsInstall, repair, and upgrade machinery and equipment as part of capital projects or system improvementsAssist with developing and updating maintenance SOPs and equipment documentationFollow OSHA requirements, safety standards, and company policies at all timesSupport facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, boilers, and water treatmentCollaborate with engineering, production teams, and external vendors on repairs and upgradesPerform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance ManagerQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electromechanics, or related field preferredMinimum 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, automation systems, and sensorsAdvanced troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to lead by example, prioritize tasks, and work independentlyProficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)Forklift and aerial lift certification required or ability to obtainAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsStrong communication skills and ability to train and document work clearlyPhysical Demands:Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reachingAbility to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionallyClear vision at close and far distances, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to distinguish colorsAbility to work in physically active and hands-on maintenance environmentsWork Conditions:Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, high temperatures, hot water, oil, grease, solvents, cleaners, lubricants, water treatment chemicals, compressed air, noise, and dustRequired PPE may include safety glasses, ear protection, hairnets, hard hats, and face coverings
