As an Accounting Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support the Accounting Department with tasks related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure the accuracy of job costing and expenses, directly contributing to the financial success of our projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining compliance and financial controls.
What you will do
Review and reconcile invoices against purchase orders, collaborating closely with the purchasing team.
Work with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and reconcile statements.
Partner with the project management team to process monthly billings.
Review vendor statements.
Troubleshoot and resolve billing discrepancies.
Prepare conditional and unconditional lien waivers for billings.
Track vendor lien releases.
Monitor and review the Accounts Receivable report, supporting collection of outstanding payments.
Assist in improving efficiency within AP/AR functions in coordination with Purchasing, Project Managers, and the Service Department.
Support the month-end close process, including tasks and annual audits as needed.
Support the Accounting department with other tasks and projects as business requires.
Education, Skills & Experience
1-3 years of accounting experience required, within the construction industry preferred;
Knowledge of construction accounting preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manipulate reports required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to maintain a positive attitude a must.
Well organized with strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines consistently required.
Ability to handle sensitive information and confidential information with discretion required.
Willingness to submit to a comprehensive background check required.
Compensation & Company Benefits Include
This is a hybrid, full-time, exempt position. The compensation for this role is $68,640 - $95,000 annually and is based on experience and skillset.

Salary : $68,600 - $95,000
