Position Summary:
Silgan Closures, the largest manufacturer of closures in the United States, is recruiting for multiple Coater Stackers to work at our Richmond, Indiana facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for proper inspection and stacking of metal plate removal from oven conveyor. This is a full-time position with benefits and career advancement opportunities. Shifts are 8 hours per day with overtime on weekends when available. A strong work ethic and related experience in a manufacturing environment are required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Adjust and operate sheet metal stackers, electrostatic waxer, waxing machine, bundle turners, and reltated equipment
- Removed stacked metal from stacking equipment
- Clean machines and equipment using belts, wire, and guides.
- Prepare materials required for the handling, strapping, wrapping and shipment of coated plate.
- Visually inspect coated and sheet metal and remove defective sheets such as missing coating or litho, off-color, drip marks, bends, scratches, dirt, and damaged. Record defects.
- Select proper skids and dispose of loaded skids
- Assist Operator in setting up coating machine and changing coating rolls.
- Assist Mechanic in routine adjustments of belts and wickets
- Perform adhesion test on inside coating; mark load and notify Supervisor when problems occur
- Record process and production data, monitor process control charts, and take corrective action
- Use digital thickness gauge to measure coated sheet
- Banding loads of metal
- Straighten wickets
- Clean equipment and machines as required
- Check, inspect, reinspect, and gauge material as required
- Match coating colors to required standards
- Record and process production for use in SPC process, using SPC tools and other techniques
- Follow all Plant food safety procedures
Starting Hourly Rate - $19.12
