Family Liaison/Behavioral Assistant
Primary Purpose To assist administrators, teachers, parents and students in resolving student attendance, and behavioral problems in a consistent manner.
Essential Functions
- Confers with parents, teachers, support services personnel and students on matters of attendance, discipline and problem solving.
- Maintains records of any student disciplinary actions taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and District policies.
- Provides mentoring services to students
- Reports to administrators, teachers, school attendance staff, parents, and students relative to issues affecting student performance.
- Instructs and advises students regarding their responsibility to adhere to school rules and policies, to foster a safe school environment, and to respect other individuals and property.
- Assists administrators, teachers, and school attendance staff in addressing student attendance problems.
- Monitors the In-School Suspension Program
- Arranges meetings as directed with students, parents, teachers, and administrators regarding disciplinary problems in school.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Equipment Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers, and telephone.
Travel Requirements Travel to Lincoln County School District buildings as needed. Travel to training, or professional development.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Work in school building environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student discipline, bullying, sexual harassment, mandatory reporter etc.
- Knowledge of student behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of dispute resolution techniques and ability to engage in dispute resolution.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Qualifications Profile Certification/License:
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education Bachelor's and Masters Degree an accredited college or university.
Experience
- Successful experience working with children at risk.
Pay: $20.24 - $31.89 per hour
