The Shipping Admin/ Receiver is responsible for preparing items for shipment, compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipment to verity information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records. Expected to keep track of shipment schedules for both incoming and outgoing shipments, track inventory counts and check the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies. Other duties include ensuring inventory counts are up to date, logging all inventory in Epicor, and ensuring that quantities of products, materials, supplies, and equipment are maintained at all times.

  • Data Entry as required.
  • Processing shipping transactions through the computer’s shipping module.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, wear required PPE, maintain and use equipment following all safety regulations as required.
  • General warehouse admin and communication with customer service.
  • ERP system order processing.
  • Shipping orders that has been picked (printing labels, verifying accurate picking).
  • Communication with truckers regarding incoming container receipts.
  • Communication with 3rd party couriers to schedule pickups.
  • Read and understand packing list, bill of lading and shipping/receiving instructions.
  • Receive daily packages by sorting upon arrival and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders etc.
  • Bulk receives large shipments of one, to many pallets of product.
  • Operate tow motor to move material to proper departments or areas.
  • Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Must be organized and detailed oriented.
  • Willingness to function in a team environment.
  • Possess a sense of responsibility to accomplish task without supervision.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the elements of the outside depending on the season. Maybe exposed to varying temperatures. The environment is an active plant with continuous noises from equipment inside the plant.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • TMS Experience preferred.
  • UPS/Fed Ex Experience preferred
  • Epicore experience preferred
  • A minimum of one year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in shipping and or receiving department.
  • Ability to be certified as Licensed Forklift Truck Operator/Tow Motor Operator.
