You'd be joining a team of four engineers working almost entirely on the backend. There are no product managers here, so engineers own their work across the full lifecycle, from framing the problem to shipping and maintaining it. This is a flat, high-ownership environment where you'll be trusted to make real product and architecture calls, not just implement someone else's spec.

Responsibilities
- Own backend systems built in Ruby on Rails from design through production
- Partner directly with the founding team on product direction, not just execution
- Make architectural trade-off calls in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment
- Work closely with a small, fully distributed engineering team
- 6 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails backend development
- Track record of owning products end-to-end rather than just executing tickets
- Comfortable operating independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments High ownership mentality and genuine interest in early-stage, mission-driven work
- Experience in fintech or another highly regulated industry such as healthcare
- An initial conversational interview with the hiring manager
- A product-focused discussion with a current engineer
- A hands-on Rails coding exercise that builds on that product discussion
- A final conversation with the founding team.
Salary : $150,000 - $185,000
