Job Title: Bridal Alterations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Bridal Alterations Specialist to join our team. As a seamstress specializing in bridal alterations, you will work closely with clients to ensure their wedding attire fits perfectly and meets their expectations. Your expertise working with fine fabrics, and attention to details will ensure each bride looks and feels their best on their special day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform precise alterations on wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and other formalwear.
• Adjust hems, bodices, sleeves, bustles, and other elements to achieve the perfect fit.
• Work with delicate fabrics such as lace, silk, tulle, and chiffon, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
• Incorporate complex adjustments, including beadwork, lace appliqué placement, and structural modifications.
• Conduct fittings with clients to assess alteration needs and provide expert advice on design adjustments.
• Maintain clear communication with clients to ensure their preferences and timelines are met.
• Ensure garments are completed on time and prepared to the highest standard for pick-up.
• Repair or restore vintage and heirloom bridal garments as needed.
• Maintain an organized, clean workspace and ensure tailoring equipment is in excellent working condition.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a seamstress/tailor, with a strong background in bridal or formalwear alterations.
• Exceptional sewing and tailoring skills, including proficiency with industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
• Expertise in handling delicate fabrics and intricate garment details.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fitting, and body proportions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to create a positive client experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of bridal fashion trends and wedding gown design.
• Experience in redesigning or customizing bridal gowns for unique client needs.
• Pattern-making and garment reconstruction skills.

Work Environment:

• This role is based in Sherman Texas in a professional and client-focused environment.
• Work schedules may require flexibility, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate fittings.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
