Job Summary
We are seeking multiple Registered Nurses to fill contract roles a dedicated and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to fulfill contract needs across various emergency, labor & delivery and acute care settings in Washington State. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in high-pressure environments such as Emergency Rooms (ER), Acute Care Units (ACU), and Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) units. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for patient-centered care, a broad skill set, and the flexibility to thrive in fast-paced hospital or clinical settings. You will be instrumental in delivering exceptional nursing services, supporting patient recovery, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. This position provides a rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact while advancing your nursing expertise. Location areas: Arbor Health, Island Health, Ferry County, Othello, Pomeroy, & Skyline. Multiple roles with completion bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage airway support with ventilator care, intubation procedures, and airway management protocols.
  • Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and specimen collection with precision.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
  • Conduct patient triage in emergency settings to prioritize urgent care needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in trauma centers (Level I & II), ICU, PICU, or other acute care units to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care coordination for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed during all procedures and patient interactions.
  • Assist with complex treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy or esthetic laser treatments when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Valid RN license for Washington State with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Proven experience in emergency medicine, ICU/critical care environments, or hospital medicine settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, assisted living patients, hospice & palliative medicine cases, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to perform advanced nursing skills such as IV insertion, sterile processing, ostomy care, or gastrostomy tube feeding when required.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in trauma centers or urgent care environments.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and HIPAA compliance essential for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
