Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room department in Othello, WA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine, critical care, and patient assessment. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage incoming patients based on severity of condition.
- Administer medications, IV infusions, and perform procedures such as suturing and catheterization.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including Epic and Cerner, for documentation and patient management.
- Provide critical care interventions and support for patients with complex medical needs, including those requiring dialysis or ventilator support.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs, perform diagnostic evaluations, and manage acute pain effectively.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards in all aspects of patient care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Compact State License.
- Experience in emergency room settings or critical care environments is required.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and basic life support (BLS) certification. NRP required.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and medication administration protocols.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in areas such as trauma medicine, hospice & palliative care, or behavioral health.
