Graphic Design/Sign Maker/Production/Counter(Rocky Hill, CT. 06067)
compensation: Hourly compensation based on experience
Retail Sign, print and copy business with locations in Rocky Hill, Newington and Glastonbury, CT, has an opening for a person experienced in pre-press, sign-making and desktop publishing/typesetting. We value long term relationships with our customers and employees.
AMONG THE JOB DUTIES:
--Designing and producing signs, brochures, letterhead, business cards, forms, etc.
--Web Site building and design a plus
--Social media promotion a plus
--Vinyl sign production and large-format digital printing experience a plus
--Mounting graphics on various substrates, including vehicles a plus
--Ability to preflight and troubleshoot customer-designed digital files, load fonts, inspect and refine and convert graphics into vector art and make color separations
--Setup for file output to digital B/W and color copies;
--Operate all large-format printing machines, copying, folding, bindery, and all other production equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
--Must be focused on quality;
--Minimum of 2 years experience in pre-press and graphic production using Mac or PC platforms;
--Full knowledge of all aspects of electronic pre-press applications, including Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop CS, Microsoft Office programs, Corel Draw, etc.;
--Professional demeanor, work as a team player with all employees, ability to work with customers FACE TO FACE, and by e-mail and the telephone;
--Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a DEADLINE DRIVEN ENVIRONMENT;
--Must be able to complete our in-house, timed test of your computer-graphic abilities.
