Schedule:
Part-Time: Monday - Friday 10am-2pm
Some Job Responsibilities:
- Assists with the supervision and preparation of the student lunches.
- Supports students in the following individualized feeding protocols and encourages independence during meals.
- Monitors students closely to prevent choking and to ensure mealtime safety.
- Assists students with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene and toileting, using universal precautions.
- Supports the classroom teacher in supervising students during non-instructional activities.
- Interacts with students in a consistent, supportive, and nurturing manner.
- Helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including care of materials and equipment.
- Collaborates effectively and professionally as part of the classroom team.
- Follows all agency policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED;
- Valid NYS Driver's License preferred;
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred;
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as (but not limited to); twisting, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing;
- Must be able to sit, walk, drive, and stand for prolonged periods of time;
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
