We are looking to expand the Engineering team at our Cream Ridge NJ facility. We are looking for a motivated and outgoing individual to fill a full-time Product Engineer position at this facility.
Position Summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, improvement, qualification, and production of engineered products from concept through production and field support. The role requires close coordination with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, sales, and operations teams to ensure products meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
The Product Engineer will manage engineering documentation, support supplier development, drive product improvements, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure successful execution of engineering and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Develop and review 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Support new product development activities. Modify and improve existing product designs.
- Ensure designs comply with specifications, industry standards, and internal requirements.
- Support casting, machining, fabrication, stamping, forging, or assembly design optimization.
- Review tolerances, GD&T, manufacturability, and cost optimization opportunities.
Engineering Documentation
- Maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, ECNs, NORs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Manage drawing revisions and document control.
- Support Vault/PDM or document management systems.
- Coordinate engineering approvals and customer submittals.
Supplier & Manufacturing Support
- Work closely with suppliers to develop products and tooling.
- Review Gauge, tooling concepts, die designs, patterns, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
- Support supplier qualification and process improvement activities.
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues.
Quality & Validation
- Support PPAP, PSW, FAI, SDR, CAR, NCR, SAP, and validation activities.
- Review inspection reports, dimensional reports, and test results.
- Coordinate product testing and qualification activities. Ensure products meet performance, pressure, dimensional, coating, and functional requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Project Management
- Coordinate engineering projects from concept to production.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, approvals, and action items.
- Support cross-functional communication between Engineering, Sales, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, and Suppliers.
- Participate in customer and supplier meetings.
- Support implementation of engineering systems, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 2–7 years of engineering experience preferred. Fresh Graduates are welcome.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as:
- Castings, Machining, Fabrication, Forging, Stamping, Coatings, Assemblies
- Injection molding experience is plus
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault.
- Knowledge of: GD&T, Manufacturing tolerances, Engineering standards, Root cause analysis, Quality systems.
- Experience with ERP/PDM systems is plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Experience
- Product development in industrial, waterworks, energy, utility, OEM, or infrastructure industries.
- Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of AWWA, ASTM, ASME, UL/FM, NSF, or similar standards is a plus.
- Experience with tooling development, casting simulations, or manufacturing optimization preferred.
