What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peoplesoft Analyst position at Sigil Partners?
Senior PeopleSoft Financial Systems Analyst – AR & Billing
Location: Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Opportunity
A large, established organization is building out its enterprise applications team as part of a significant corporate separation. We are seeking a Senior PeopleSoft Financial Systems Analyst to take functional ownership of key Accounts Receivable and Billing processes while helping establish the systems environment for the newly independent organization.
This is more than a traditional PeopleSoft support role. You’ll work alongside Finance, Accounting, IT, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners during a major systems transition. Longer term, you may also have the opportunity to participate in the evaluation and implementation of a next-generation ERP platform.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on PeopleSoft Financials knowledge with a strong understanding of how billing, receivables, and accounting processes work within the business.
What You’ll Do
You’ll serve as a functional expert for PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable and Billing, helping ensure financial transactions move accurately from initial billing through customer payment and ultimately into the General Ledger.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and support PeopleSoft AR and Billing functionality, configuration, and business processes.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to understand requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
- Support billing, invoicing, payments, collections, deductions, adjustments, customer accounts, and related accounting activities.
- Troubleshoot transaction, integration, and reconciliation issues across Billing, AR, and GL.
- Configure areas such as bill types, business units, accounting rules, item types, payment terms, customer setup, and accounting distributions.
- Work with technical teams on integrations, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and data requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes and resolve system-related accounting issues.
- Develop functional requirements, process documentation, test cases, and training materials.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, defect resolution, deployments, and post-production support.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, controls, data quality, and overall process efficiency.
During the initial transition period, you’ll also participate in knowledge transfer with existing teams and systems integrators, learn current business processes, and help prepare the organization to independently support its PeopleSoft environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong functional experience with PeopleSoft Financials/FSCM.
- Hands-on knowledge of Accounts Receivable and/or Billing.
- Understanding of the transaction and accounting flow between Billing, AR, and General Ledger.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into functional specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex financial-system and integration issues.
- Experience with testing, implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or production support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business users.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Experience with PeopleSoft Query, Integration Broker, APIs, middleware, large implementations, or multi-business-unit environments is helpful but not essential.
Previous Product Owner experience is not required. The priority is strong PeopleSoft functional knowledge, business-process expertise, and the ability to bridge the gap between business and technology teams.
Work Arrangement
Candidates in Birmingham or Atlanta are preferred. The hybrid schedule alternates between three and two days onsite each week.
For someone who has built a career around PeopleSoft but wants exposure to broader enterprise transformation, this role offers an opportunity to help shape a new systems organization today while potentially participating in a future ERP modernization initiative.
Salary : $150,000 - $165,000
