Job Duties
- Impacts multiple areas of development, functions, or processes and influences policies and guidelines in their area.
- Works with multiple applications; will lead projects and be accountable for the successful technical implementation of business software applications.
- Manages critical projects, customer engagements or business processes and advises junior team members.
- Develops complex software applications based on approved design.
- Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improves business performance and contributes to corporate goals and strategic intent.
- Corrects system problems as directed by manager.
- Ensures projects are delivered on time and according to specifications.
- Works as part of a team for most projects.
- Mentors junior developers with code reviews, design reviews and unit test plan reviews.
- Represents IT as the principal technical contact and often performs technical project leadership roles.
- Identifies opportunities for process and procedure enhancements and communicates them to other departments/areas to drive efficiency and customer service levels.
- Forecasts, models and utilizes advanced analytical tools.
- Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and applications, and exerts significant latitude in determining the objectives of an assignment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of related experience; or equivalent combination. 5 years of PeopleSoft Technical/Development experience
- Applies a comprehensive knowledge of application programming and design to analyze and isolate issues.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experienced understanding and application of client/server network.
- Applies knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to highly complex problems.
- Advanced understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs.
- Typically requires experience with structured application development and change control methodologies.
- Thorough understanding of key business drivers and ability to communicate and translate those needs to technical solutions.
- Typically requires experience with object oriented analysis and design.
- This position may require working the evening shift (5pm to 2am) and will vary based on certain times of the year to support a new client.
