We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team as a Civil Basin Engineer. This position is focused on ensuring the structural soundness and optimal production planning for basin facilities. While mining industry experience is not required, you should bring a strong understanding of soil mechanics and an eagerness to learn new aspects of the field. Comprehensive on-the-job training in mining operations will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with facility operators to learn and manage basin operations.
- Support production planning while overseeing and maintaining basin structural integrity.
- Apply soil mechanics expertise to monitor and improve basin performance.
- Participate in cross-functional teamwork and assist with shared responsibilities during training and ramp-up.
- Maintain effective communication with operations and engineering personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field required.
- Solid foundation in soil mechanics; real-world application preferred, but strong academic experience considered.
- Willingness to learn tailings and basin management through hands-on experience; prior mining experience not required.
- Understanding of dam safety principles is a plus, but not mandatory.
- No environmental permitting experience required; familiarity with erosion and ground control issues is beneficial.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Salary : $80,000 - $130,000
