The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician who will have broad responsibility to service and maintain home theatre systems, security alarm systems, and camera systems. This unique role blends hands-on field service with dedicated office hours to provide remote, phone-based troubleshooting for our clients. Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and troubleshoot smart home, video, audio, security alarm, and camera systems in residential settings.
- Provide exceptional technical support over the phone during designated office hours, effectively communicating complex technical solutions to clients.
- Interact with customers to determine system programming requirements.
- Instruct customers on the safe and proper use of equipment.
- Diagnose and solve for issues with audio/visual and security equipment while ensuring a positive experience for both our customers and employee teammates.
Minimum Requirements
- One year of professional experience as a technician working on-site in residential settings.
- Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a highly professional manner.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime required depending on the daily project schedule.
- Daily commute to our offices in Sterling, VA.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to pass a background check to obtain a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) license, which is required by Virginia law for servicing security alarm and camera systems.
- Hands-on experience with Qolsys security panels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with home technology systems and automation products.
- Two years of hands-on residential audiovisual system service and networking experience.
- Control4 Cerifications.
- Experience with Alarm.com software.
- Experience with Eero and Ubiquity systems.
- Experience with OvrC.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
