Summer Intern, Inclusion & Engagement

SIFMA is seeking an Inclusion & Engagement Intern for the summer. An internship at SIFMA gives candidates hands-on experience working on substantive and challenging projects, while collaborating with experts in the financial services industry and public policy arena.

Throughout the nine-week program, the internship experience offers students a rare opportunity to work on special projects supporting SIFMA’s Inclusion & Engagement efforts in the interests of its members. Successful interns should be self-motivated, proficient in research and have a strong interest in I&E initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

The intern will work closely with the I&E team to support all aspects of SIFMA’s external-facing I&E programming. Responsibilities will include researching I&E best practices and trends, supporting event planning for upcoming conferences, collaborating on external communications, and supporting outreach to higher education partners for SIFMA Invest, SIFMA’s platform to attract diverse students into the financial services industry. Strong written communication skills required, as well as a demonstrated interest in diversity, equity and inclusion work.

 

Qualifications:

·         Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; Public Policy, Communications, Business, Sociology, and related coursework highly desirable.

·         Expresses professional demeanor and commitment to provide superior customer service with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as external parties.

·         Demonstration of excellent clerical, organizational, time management and written and verbal communication skills.

·         Technical skills including a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with database use and functionality.

·         Shows work effectiveness, persistency, and commitment.

·         Ability to prioritize tasks/workload.

 

Hourly rate: $18 per hour
