Intern, Advocacy

SIFMA is currently looking for an intern to join its Advocacy team in SIFMA’s Washington, DC office. The Advocacy internship experience offers students the opportunity to learn how SIFMA formulates, analyzes, and supports public policy positions in the interests of its members. Throughout the program, the intern will work closely with the Advocacy team as well as professionals across SIFMA’s research, legal, and capital markets functions. The Advocacy intern will be assigned specific projects, to be completed by the program’s end and for which they will receive authorship credits. The selected intern will participate in the program for pay or school credit. The role is part-time with flexibility for school or other obligations as mutually agreed upon by SIFMA and the intern.

Qualifications:

·   Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or Juris Doctorate; Finance or Public Policy coursework highly desirable.

·         Possesses:

o    Excellent clerical, organizational, time management and written and verbal communication skills; and

o    Technical skills including a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Demonstrates:

o    Ability to prioritize tasks/workload;

o    Professional demeanor;

o    Commitment to providing superior customer service with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients; and

o    Work effectiveness, persistency and commitment.
