SierTeK Ltd. is seeking five (5) Technical Writer and Analytical Support to support an opportunity at Hill AFB, UT.
POSITION OVERVIEW SECTION
The employe shall provide Non-Conformance management and support through the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and applicable engineering systems. The contractor shall have the skillset to receive, gather, analyze, and draft detailed plans and procedures to improve efficiency within the squadron.
- All work will be done in-accordance with the explicitly published Air Force Instructional, Joint Technical Data, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) Document(s), Regulation, and Guidance.
Essential Job Functions
Respond to all requests for technical and analytical support received through the MRO system
- Monitor the MRO system for incoming support requests
- Develop a strong understanding of MRO system’s data structure, available reports, and data query capabilities
- Acknowledge receipt of requests within four (4) business hours and communicate with requestor to clarify needs and expectations
- Provide initial assessment and guidance
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis as needed to fully and appropriately address the request. If engineering support is not required, the employee shall close the request in MRO within one (1) business day with the identified solution.
- Utilizing the available sources gather information for the assigned task and initiate the engineering assistance process
- Follow engineering guidance to gather data and measurements
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data utilized in the reports
- Update the applicable engineering database with the draft engineering request submission within the appropriate time frame after initial MRO notification as identified in the chart below. Once the engineering request is submitted, the contractor shall close the request in MRO with the engineering request identification number.

Process Improvement and Optimization. Develop detailed plans, methods, procedures, benchmarking studies, and process improvements for work processes and functions, focusing on efficiency enhancements
- Analyze existing process for bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for improvement
- Develop and document new or revised work processes and procedures
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
Integrate Product Team Member. Participate in Integrate Product Teams (IPTs) as an analyst and contributing to broad-scope studies and providing technical expertise
- Attend IPT meetings as needed
- Conduct research, data analysis, and modeling to support IPT objectives
- Collaborate with IPT members to develop recommendations and solutions
Analyze Emerging Operational Requirements. Proactively analyze and identify non-standard or emerging operational requirements and accurately assessing their impact on overall management and product support
- Conduct ongoing research and review of industry trends, technological advancements, and changing mission needs
- Assess potential impact of production support, resources, and processes
- Prepare reports and briefings to communicate findings, risks, and recommendations\
Address Program Incompatibilities. Analyze and resolve problems arising from the incompatibility of future programs or system upgrades.
- Review proposed program plans and technical specifications to identify potential points of conflict
- Develop and evaluate corrective action options to mitigate or eliminate identified compatibilities
Logistics Policy Research and Analysis. Research, analyze, and provide recommendations on complex logistic policy issues impacting the organization
- Stay abreast of changes and updates to relevant DoD, Air Force, and command-specific logistics policies and regulations
- Analyze the impact of the revised policies for processes, procedures, and compliance
Assess Planning Documentation Alignment. Review and assess the relevancy, adequacy, sustainability, and attainability of planning and related documents
- Review unit related plans, strategies, instructions, and guidance documents
- Evaluate the alignment of these documents with current and future operational requirements, logistics policies, and industry best practices
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement in existing documentations
Workload and Cost Analysis. Research and analyze data to determine current and project future workload costs
- Utilizing MRO and available data sources to gather information on labor hours, material costs, and overhead expenses
- Identify cost drivers and areas for potential savings utilizing Lean initiatives
- Prepare reports and briefings to inform leadership of current and projected workload costs and support resource allocation decisions
- Identify deficiencies within the OO-ALC through material data, work orders, inventory levels, repair times, and costs
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying factors contributing to identified issues
Project/Program Management Support. Assist government project/program managers by providing technical expertise and analytical support
- Participate in routine meetings, reviews, and working groups
- Provide input to plans and risk assessments
- Track program progress, identify bottlenecks, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Provide full process oversight from initiation, through development and modifications, and to final closeout for individual engineering assistance requests.
Performance Assessment and Measurement. Participate in the development and coordination of assessment criteria, indicators, and procedures for measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Develop data collection plans and methodologies to measure KPIs accurately
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement
- Recommend adjustments to assessment criteria and procedures as needed to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness
Impact Assessment of Changes. Assess the impact of proposed or actual changes in technical requirements, documentation, training, and schedules within the organization
- Review proposed changes and assess their potential impact on program cost, schedule, performance, and resources
- Identify risks and recommend potential mitigation strategies
Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in technical writing
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite skills (3-5 years experience) to perform all functional duties independently
- Must possess or be eligible for a security clearance appropriate for handling classified information
