Job Description:
We are looking for a certified professional with FDNY S92 and/or S93 Certificates of Fitness to oversee the safe handling, supervision, and operation of portable fueled space heaters, as well as flammable and combustible liquids at construction sites. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with FDNY regulations and ensuring a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
For S92 - Supervision of Portable Fueled Space Heaters:
- Supervise the use, handling, and operation of portable fueled space heaters on construction sites.
- Ensure proper storage and usage of portable heaters in compliance with FDNY regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards related to heaters and fuel storage.
- Maintain accurate logs of heater operations and fuel usage.
For S93 - Supervision of Temporary Storage, Handling, and Dispensing of Flammable or Combustible Liquids:
- Oversee the safe storage, handling, and dispensing of flammable and combustible liquids at construction sites.
- Ensure compliance with FDNY and NYC regulations for temporary storage tanks and fuel systems.
- Conduct inspections of fuel storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, signage, and containment.
- Train site personnel on safe practices for handling flammable or combustible materials.
- Respond to and report incidents involving fuel spills or fire hazards.
Qualifications:
- Valid FDNY S92 Certificate of Fitness (required for supervision of portable fueled space heaters).
- Valid FDNY S93 Certificate of Fitness (required for handling flammable and combustible liquids).
- Thorough understanding of FDNY fire code and construction safety standards.
- Prior experience in construction safety or fire compliance (preferred).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain detailed logs and compliance documentation.
