Company Description:
Founded in 1995, Sierra Produce imports and markets fresh fruit from Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Greece, South Africa, and the USA. We currently import 6–7 million boxes annually across both the East and West Coasts, servicing major retail, wholesale, and foodservice customers throughout the United States and Canada with product lines that include table grapes, citrus, stone fruit, blueberries, kiwi, apples, and pears.
Sierra Produce is continuing to grow, and we are looking to add a Sales Assistant to our East Coast team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated, organized, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience within the produce industry while working alongside an experienced sales team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist sales staff with daily customer orders and account management
• Communicate with customers, warehouses, trucking companies, and internal teams
• Assist with inventory management, order entry, and logistics coordination
• Support sales staff with pricing, product availability, and shipment tracking
• Work closely with sales, logistics, and QC teams throughout the sales process
• Help maintain strong customer relationships through timely communication and follow-up
Qualifications:
• Produce industry experience is preferred, but not required
• Administrative, logistics, retail produce, or customer service experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Famous software experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
