What will I do?
- Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles to specification.
- Hand, block, and mechanical sanding of car shells (carbon and stainless steel) prior to coating.
- Mask and clean surfaces for adhesion; apply undercoats and primers.
- Conduct general maintenance of spray guns and related equipment.
- Assist fellow painters and support adjacent production tasks as required.
What do I bring?
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in manufacturing/industrial coatings.
- 1 year of painting experience in a manufacturing or similar materials environment.
- Basic English communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, contracted services, and teammates.
- Ability to read and comprehend straightforward instructions, brief correspondence, and technical documents.
- Math proficiency: whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rate/ratio/percent; create and interpret bar charts.
Working conditions and physical expectations
- Frequent walking; reaching; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
- Regular climbing (stairs, steps, ladders) and work on elevated platforms.
- Overhead tasks are common.
- Lift and move items up to 40 lbs.

Compensation and benefits
Location: Lexington, NC
Base rate range: $16.00/hr - $19.68/hr. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
