How You’ll Make An Impact
- Prepare, configure, and deploy data acquisition and instrumentation systems for gas turbine testing
- Install and apply sensors including static and dynamic pressure, vibration, temperature, acoustics, and clearance measurements
- Support field testing and validation activities at Siemens Energy and customer sites
- Operate data acquisition systems during test execution and monitor data quality
- Ensure proper data collection, organization, storage, and documentation
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and DAQ issues before and during testing
- Work alongside engineers and technicians to execute testing safely and efficiently
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff in instrumentation and testing techniques
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems in test or field environments of large turbo machinery (preferred).
- Familiarity with sensors for pressure, vibration, temperature, or acoustic measurements
- Willingness to travel and support testing activities, including occasional international assignments
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in small, hands-on test teams
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Experience supporting gas turbine, aerospace, or rotating machinery testing
- Exposure to high-temperature, high-speed, or dynamic test environments
- Comfort working extended hours during active test campaigns
- Curiosity-driven, detail-oriented approach to testing and data quality
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
