How You’ll Make An Impact (responsibilities)
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate the equipment in the metallurgical laboratory (example equipment; Optical microscopes, scanning electron microscope, sample preparation equipment (cutting, mounting, polishing), polymeric testing equipment (TMA, TGA, DMA, DSC), hardness testing equipment.)
- Work closely with other colleagues to coordinate and conduct materials investigations (example investigations, microstructure evaluations and characterization, mechanical property inspections, heat treatment studies, polymeric characterization, and fracture analysis)
- Organize and order the laboratory consumables. Ensuring all equipment is maintained and ready for operation by you or a trained team member. This also includes working instructions for the equipment or process.
- Train colleagues how to use the equipment correctly and safely within the lab.
- Ensure working instructions are maintained and current.
- Working experience within a metallurgical laboratory (3 years minimal) or a completed university degree in the field of materials engineering/material science or mechanical engineering with a specialization in materials technology or equivalent technical degree
- Ability to work in a team, ability to analyze, structured and result-oriented working style, diligent approach to work
