As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team. This individual will partner closely with ownership and operations leadership to build a best-in-class HR function that supports growth, strengthens culture, and drives performance across all locations.
Position Summary:
The Director of HR will play a critical leadership role within our organization, responsible for both building and scaling our HR infrastructure to support continued expansion. This is an in-person, on-site role that requires a hands-on, collaborative leader who can balance strategy, compliance, and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, lead, and continuously evolve the HR department, creating scalable systems and processes to support current and future growth.
- Oversee all HR functions across multiple restaurant locations, ensuring consistency and compliance with Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations.
- Partner with Operations and Ownership to develop a people-first culture that enhances engagement, retention, and accountability.
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, and retention initiatives, with a focus on reducing turnover and improving team development.
- Direct the design and administration of benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and potential litigation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEI, and labor standards while promoting a safe, inclusive workplace.
- Manage and optimize payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, or similar) for efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct and oversee onboarding, performance evaluations, and exit interviews, leveraging data to inform HR strategy.
- Develop and monitor key HR KPIs, including retention, turnover reduction, and engagement metrics.
- Play a strategic role in New Restaurant Openings (NROs) to ensure alignment of staffing, training, and compliance standards.
- Advise senior leadership on compensation strategy, workforce planning, and long-term organizational development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, (restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus).
- Demonstrated success building and scaling an HR department within a growing organization.
- Proven experience with NROs and multi-location workforce management.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA compliance, DEI, and employment law.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to develop and track HR metrics and KPIs.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 annually, plus performance-based bonus
