Duties
- Coordinate between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely delivery of food orders.
- Verify that dishes meet quality standards before they leave the kitchen, ensuring presentation and accuracy.
- Communicate clearly with cooks, bartenders, and front-of-house staff to prioritize orders and resolve any issues promptly.
- Organize and expedite food trays to maintain a steady flow during busy service periods.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including plating and garnishing dishes for presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station to promote food safety standards.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting in maintaining a clean dining environment when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant operations, or hospitality environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and servers.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling techniques.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-pressure setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic numeracy skills for order accuracy.
- Previous experience with food expediting or food preparation is highly desirable.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple orders simultaneously during peak hours.
- Experience in banquet service, hotel hospitality, or culinary roles is a plus.
