Responsibilities

• Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using manual cleaning techniques or dishwashing machines.
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards.
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing station and surrounding kitchen areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
• Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including proper manual handling techniques and safe operation of kitchen machinery.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large pots or crates of supplies while following safe lifting practices.
• Support sanitation protocols during food handling processes to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management systems.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued.
• Familiarity with food safety procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen health standards is advantageous.
• Experience with dishwashing equipment or operating basic kitchen machinery is a plus.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Knowledge of basic food handling and hygiene practices contributes to success in this role.
• Prior banquet or hospitality experience can be beneficial but is not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to support the team are essential.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
