What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Attendant position at Sichler Farms?
We are seeking a reliable and strong individual to assist with store opening and closing duties for our 2026 chile season. This is a part-time position and shifts are needed in the mornings and afternoons from the beginning of August through mid-October. Hours would be in the mornings from 6:45am-9:00am and in the afternoons from 3:45pm-5:30pm, Thursdays through Sundays. This would be a great opportunity for high school or college students that can work in between their class schedules.
Responsibilities
· Assist with the set up and break down of chile stand each day.
· Assist with the unloading of large quantities of produce from local farmers
· Sort, clean, and set out various produce
· Clean, sort, package chile products for individual sales
· Carry heavy items to customers’ vehicles as needed.
· Inspect and clean chile pods, onions, garlic, and other produce; remove and discard any old or spoiled items.
· Assist in packaging chile in smaller quantities for customer purchases.
· Assist in restocking shelves with fresh products.
· Always maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Qualifications
· Assist with the set up and break down of the chile stand each day.
· Hanging and taking down ristras each day.
· Sort, clean, and set out various produce for sales in the mornings and reshelve
· them in the evenings.
· Assist in restocking shelves with fresh products.
· Cleaning and organizing designated areas.
· Timeliness—on time for each shift.
· Ability to accomplish tasks quickly and efficiently while working independently.
· Physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., as well as able to reach in tall
places.
