Job Summary
We are hiring a Starburst DevOps Engineer/Admin to manage and support a shared Starburst data platform in a large-scale enterprise environment. This role focuses on platform administration, DevOps support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, with strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Starburst platform
- Manage platform lifecycle: maintenance, upgrades, release management, and disaster recovery
- Act as L3 escalation point for production issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Perform environment tuning, capacity planning, and stability monitoring
- Support Kubernetes/OpenShift-based deployments
- Optimize SQL queries and platform performance
- Maintain platform security, connectivity, and configurations
- Document standards, best practices, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Starburst (must-have)
- Solid DevOps experience supporting production platforms
- Expertise in Kubernetes & OpenShift
- Strong Python scripting skills
- Experience in troubleshooting, RCA, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of SQL query tuning & data platform optimization
- Familiarity with Starburst security model and connectivity setup
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Hadoop ecosystem experience
- JDBC connectivity configuration
- Experience with platform monitoring and metrics reporting
