Job Overview
The Manager of Orthotics & Prosthetics is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the day-to-day activities of assigned staff; Assuring provisions of quality orthotic/prosthetic devices are in accordance with Physician's prescription, and act as a resource to staff, patients, families and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibility. Shriners Salt Lake City is searching for a full time Manager of Orthotics & Prosthetics to join our team.
Schedule: Full-time FTE 1.0 (in person)
Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year
Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.
Responsibilities
- This position functions independently to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a certified Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, including patient confidentiality
- Responsible for planning, directing and managing the work of the O&P Technician staff, and Department Assistant staff on all day-to-day department operations
- Demonstrates proficiency in OPIE (O&P Business Management Software)
- Establishes work-flow and communication with Fabrication Center (east and west) for all custom fabrication to endure safety and quality of all devices provided to patients
- VORUM (CAD) use
- Participation in all O&P leadership and work-group calls and activities
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining ABC facility accreditation
- Adheres to all SHC policies and procedures, and participates in local hospital management team and operations
Qualifications
Required
- Masters in Prosthetics & Orthotics or Bachelor's degree with ABC approved Orthotic and Prosthetic certificate program and the successful completion of NCOPE residencies in both O&P
- Current American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
- Current state License in Orthotics/Prosthetics required if licensure is active in the state
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Card Certification
- 5 years of experience working in a hospital or medical office with insurance authorization
Minimum one year of Clinical and technical experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics field
Preferred
- 5 years management experience in a supervisory/leadership role
