The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will assess, prioritize, and manage patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent medical conditions. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams, the ER RN will provide timely interventions, patient education, and compassionate care while utilizing sound clinical judgment in a dynamic acute care environment.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care utilizing evidence-based practices and established nursing standards
- Assess patient conditions upon arrival and throughout treatment, promptly identifying and responding to changes in patient status
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments while monitoring patient responses and documenting care accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitor pain management, reassess interventions, and ensure patients receive timely and compassionate care throughout their Emergency Department stay
- Prepare patients for diagnostic testing, emergency procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharge while maintaining clear communication with patients and families
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, disease prevention, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record while ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards
- Support patient throughput initiatives and collaborate with inpatient units to facilitate safe and efficient admissions and transfers
- Promote a culture of teamwork, patient safety, exceptional customer service, and continuous quality improvement within the Emergency Department
Qualifications:
Degree
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
License(s) or Certification(s)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
Job Experience and/or Industry Experience
- Minimum of one year of acute care Emergency Department Registered Nurse experience required
- Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients preferred
- Experience with trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke care, sepsis management, and critical care interventions preferred
Software Skills
- Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) and Microsoft Office applications preferred
Other Skills
- Strong clinical assessment, emergency decision-making, and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department
