About SHR Consulting Group:

SHR is a premier technology integrator solving our nation’s most complex modernization and readiness challenges across the defense, federal civilian, and intelligence markets. Our robust portfolio of offerings includes high-end solutions in systems engineering and integration; enterprise IT, including cloud services; cyber; software; advanced analytics and AI. With an intimate understanding of our customers’ challenges and deep expertise in existing and emerging technologies, we integrate the best components from our own portfolio and our partner ecosystem to deliver innovative, effective, and efficient solutions.

We are a rapidly growing organization seeking an eDiscovery Specialist to support Investigative Search Requests (ISR) for JSP customers within the DISA Joint Service Provider (JSP) Platform Services portfolio. The successful candidate will receive, track, and execute authorized data searches across enterprise data stores, maintaining strict chain-of-custody, two-person integrity, and confidentiality while supporting legal, security, Inspector General, law enforcement, and command customers. This role demands exceptional discretion, attention to detail, and disciplined case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a SharePoint portal site to track the status of all Investigative Search Requests (ISRs); ensure all open ISR statuses are updated weekly on the JSP ISR SharePoint portal.

  • Within 2 business days of a new ISR being delivered to the ISR mailbox: assign and sort the case number within the ISR mailbox; add the case into SharePoint (ISR Administration folder and ISR Open Case folder); and send an email to the customer acknowledging receipt and notifying them of the assigned case number.

  • Conduct all searches using two-person verification to ensure integrity, accuracy, and defensible chain-of-custody.

  • Conduct data search requests on current and backed-up data across all JSP environments, including Organizational Shared Drives, Personal Shared Drives, and Outlook data files (PSTs, OSTs), as well as mailbox and other authorized data sources.

  • Maintain chain-of-custody and handle all search inputs and results in accordance with DoD records management, CUI marking (DoDI 5200.48), FOIA (DoDM 5400.07), privacy (PII), and litigation/legal-hold requirements.

  • Package, mark, and deliver completed search results to the requesting customer in the required format while protecting classified, CUI, privacy, and investigation-sensitive information.

  • Maintain ISR case documentation, metrics, and reporting; provide recurring status inputs and ensure case folders are accurately maintained from intake through closure.

  • Coordinate professionally and confidentially with legal counsel, security, Inspector General, law enforcement, HR, and command customers submitting ISRs.

  • Protect the confidentiality of all investigations; do not divulge any information about searches, data, subjects, or results to anyone not authorized to receive it.

  • Support searches across NIPR, SIPR, and (for appropriately cleared personnel) JWICS environments in accordance with JSP procedures and applicable authorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, digital records search, data forensics, or enterprise IT systems administration in a DoD or federal environment.

  • Hands-on experience searching enterprise data stores, including file shares, Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, and Outlook data files (PST/OST).

  • Familiarity with eDiscovery and search tools and techniques (e.g., Microsoft Purview / eDiscovery, dtSearch, FTK, EnCase, or similar).

  • Working knowledge of chain-of-custody, evidence handling, and two-person integrity procedures.

  • Knowledge of DoD records management, CUI handling (DoDI 5200.48), FOIA (DoDM 5400.07), and privacy/PII protection requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and case-management discipline; experience with SharePoint-based case tracking and status reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally and confidentially with legal, IG, security, and law enforcement customers.

  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and integrity in handling sensitive and potentially derogatory information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Education and Training Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and three (3) recent years of documented relevant experience.

  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification requirements. Must have at least ONE of these Level II certifications or higher prior to start (e.g., Security CE, CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, or equivalent)

Clearance Requirement:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Active Secret Clearance (or higher) required; must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI. Personnel conducting searches within JWICS/SCI environments must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.

Work Environment:

  • 100% onsite at a government facility within the National Capital Region (NCR), primarily at the Pentagon, Crystal Gateway, Taylor Building, Mark Center, or other JSP-designated alternate site. Must be local to the DC Metro Area with reliable transportation.

  • Must comply with all DoD, DISA, and JSP security and access protocols, including the ability to access NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans

  • Paid time off and holidays
