Job Title: Cabinet Assembler / Pre-Install Technician
Job Overview
Showcase Kitchens is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Cabinet Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the final assembly and hardware installation of high-quality, custom cabinetry before it goes out to the field. You will ensure that every drawer slides smoothly and every unit is structurally sound, dry-fitted, and ready for a flawless installation.
This position requires a mix of fine woodworking precision and physical stamina, as you will also help load and secure completed projects for transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware & Components Installation: Install drawer guides/slides, hinges, pulls, knobs, and other functional or decorative hardware with high accuracy.
- Cabinet Assembly & Pre-Fitting: Assemble cabinet components and pre-fit/dry-fit units in the shop to verify alignment, squareness, and seamless operation before job-site delivery.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces for defects, scratches, or misalignment, making adjustments to tracks and hinges as needed.
- Loading & Logistics: Safely help load, stack, and secure assembled cabinets into delivery trucks to prevent damage during transit.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; properly maintain shop tools and machinery.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in cabinet assembly, finish carpentry, or a similar manufacturing/woodworking environment preferred.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience safely using hand tools, power drills, pneumatic staple/nail guns, and measuring tapes.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and assembly diagrams.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to square up cabinets and align hardware to tight tolerances (often within 1/16th of an inch).
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and assist with heavy team lifts for large units.
