What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Technician-Emergency Department position at Shore Medical Center?
Position Summary
Emergency Room Technician- To provide direct, basic patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse. To provide care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment and the transportation of patients, supplies and equipment. In addition, the ED tech monitors the central station monitors, interprets the cardiac rhythms, documents rhythm strips every shift and more frequently when needed and notifies the Registered Nurse of any rhythm changes.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Patient care experience
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Intermediate computer skills, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to walk and stand or extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing Program
- Previous experience working in an Emergency Department
- Phlebotomy and EKG certified
