GIS and Map Designer: InDesign & Photoshop

Role Description

This role will assist the Director of GIS and GIS Team by creating aerials for the broker and real estate team. The ideal candidate will be expected to produce quality aerial, data request, and map imagery using refined Adobe Photoshop skills with associated demographic reports that are critical to the continuing expansion of our growing company. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with an interest in aerial imagery, real estate, or a specialty in GIS, which contributes to how retailers, restaurants, and convenience stores use geographic data to make locational decisions. The candidate will create the tools that help the business understand how people travel daily, relate to the local shopping environment, and how different demographic distributions influence business geographies. Candidate must have Adobe InDesign or Photoshop skills to create engaging visualizations for SHOP, and our clients.

Map Design Responsibilities (include Not Not Limited To)

• Produce high quality aerial images and materials using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, along with GIS desktop mapping software to support the commercial real estate team.
• Use templates, mapping tools, and software to create and follow standard templates for maps, demographic materials and market data for existing and proposed locations of commercial retail shopping centers.
• Creating aerial appearance with sensitivity to company brand, and various layers such as road names, and pre-existing customized networks of locations and polygons, and selecting appropriate legends and titles per branding guidelines and adhere to company quality standards.
• Verify, maintain, and update various spatial databases to include trade area boundaries, shopping centers, and national retailers, and interpret and analyze geographic data to identify trends and patterns.
• Collaborating and working with brokers and administrative teams to gather information and ensure project requirements are met.
• Pull reports related to demographics, psychographics, and populations growth trends to present for real estate development through map creations.
• Provide data in organized fashion for external use.
• Communicate and work in a team environment.
  
  

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years in CRE/Retail Real Estate Research GIS role
• Must have strong proficient experience in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to work with and learn GIS data platforms such as ESRI & Placer
• Graphic Artist experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with the internal team promptly and courteously
