Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Setup
- Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for Mill or Lathe operations
- Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets, and fixture alignment
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to ensure part accuracy
- Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Operate CNC Mill or Lathe to manufacture precision components
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets
- Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
- Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualifications
- 2 years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization)
- Proficiency in G-code programming and editing at the machine
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Good work ethic, dependable, great communication skills, positive team player
- Self-motivated, person of high integrity, shows initiative
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail work
