Shir Ami Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, energetic, and motivated Apprentice Teacher to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and is interested in building a career in early childhood education.
As an Apprentice Teacher, you will work alongside experienced educators in a warm, play-based learning environment. You will receive hands-on mentoring while helping create meaningful learning experiences for children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K.
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Build warm, positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Prepare learning materials and classroom centers.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Participate in classroom activities including art, music, storytelling, sensory play, and other learning experiences.
- Observe children's development and communicate observations with the teaching team.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Follow all licensing regulations and Shir Ami Early Learning Center policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, plus two years of experience.
- Interest in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn through coaching and mentorship.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must meet all state-required background clearances and health requirements.
