Job Summary
The Inventory Specialist plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in supporting the operational flow of Shipwreck’d. With at least one year of experience in the New Jersey cannabis industry, the ideal candidate is well-versed in inventory control and intake processes. This role is responsible for managing daily product intake, pre-order packing, vault reporting, and general inventory oversight. While not floor-facing, the Inventory Specialist is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism and assist customers when needed.

Product Intake & Procurement
- Receive and verify cannabis product shipments in accordance with Shipwreck’d intake procedures.
- Assist in labeling products for retail, ensuring full compliance with New Jersey state regulations.
- Note: This does not include cultivation-supplied terpene labels or required product warnings (e.g., “Keep Away from Children”).
- Support the pre-order packing process:
- Receive and review printed order tickets from Dutchie Admin.
- Collect products from designated day storage.
- Bag and staple the ticket to each order.
- Place completed orders on the organized pickup unit for easy access.
- Update customer status in Dutchie POS to reflect readiness for pickup.
Vault Management & Reporting
- Monitor and maintain the vault through regular reporting:
- Track product expirations, sell-through rates, defect logs, and QA metrics.
- Ensure menu accuracy and consistent inventory levels.
- Keep day storage areas organized:
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Maintain alphabetized shelving to support efficient budtender access.
- Conduct twice-daily cleaning (AM & PM) of vault and storage areas, including sweeping and dusting.
Team Support & Education
- Act as a resource to front-of-house staff for product knowledge and inventory-related inquiries.
- Engage with Seed Talent training modules during downtime to expand product and cannabis industry knowledge.
- Provide input and feedback to management on inventory trends, product needs, and operational improvements.
Experience
- Proven experience in inventory management or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience with METRC and Dutchie.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and logistics operations.
- Knowledge of production planning processes and best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID.
- Prior inventory, stock, or logistics experience required (cannabis experience a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with inventory software, spreadsheets, and compliance systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
