This position requires strong attention to detail, independent decision making, and the ability to ensure smooth product flow without constant managerial direction.
Daily Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate counts and update warehouse management system (WMS) with all product moves and placements.
- Support inventory cycle counts and full audits to ensure stock accuracy.
- Report discrepancies or damaged good promptly.
- Receive product from dock staff after unloading and place it into designated racking or storage locations.
- Identify and allocate space for new or overflow products; make independent decisions about placement to minimize disruption.
- Replenish pick locations as needed to support warehouse operations and prevent stockouts.
- Relocate items when directed by management to optimize space utilization.
- Collaborate with dock staff, operations, and general management to ensure efficient warehouse flow.
- Organize racking and storage areas to maximize and maintain accessibility.
- Ensure products are staged in correct areas for downstream processes.
- Maintain accurate product placement, replenishment, and inventory documentation in the WMS.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, storage protocols, and company policies.
- Prepare and maintain records required for audits or compliance reviews.
- Keep aisles, racking, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management role.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory software required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to make storage decisions independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to operate equipment (stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) required.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and move products up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing, walking, and material handling in a warehouse setting.
- Prolonged hours operating a stand-up and/or sit-down forklift.
