What we are looking for:
A well-rounded Senior Accounting Analyst with experience in managing the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, research and process improvement, audit support, data analysis, financial reporting, and budget preparation. This individual should have great customer service skills, advanced excel capabilities, a desire to be a part of a positive minded cohesive team, and excellent problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties which may be assigned:
· Coordinate accurate and timely completion of monthly closing procedures
· Preliminary financial statement and management report review to identify any needed adjustments
· Preparation of monthly Board reporting package
· Primary contact for all monthly reporting questions and research requests
· Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations – performance and review - to include process analysis and determination of any necessary adjusting journal entries
· Journal entries, allocation entries and analysis as assigned
· Cash account reconciliations – develop process efficiencies including automating this function
· Grant budget and invoice review, grant contract financial compliance
· Annual budget preparation assistance
· Identify opportunities for expense reduction, execute detailed analysis, clearly communicate findings
· Prepare year-end reconciliations, annual audit schedules, and compile audit support documentation
· Assist with the preparation of the Form 990 (Return for Organization Exempt from Income Tax)
· Provide general accounting assistance as needed and participate in special projects
· Cultivate and maintain strong, positive, collaborative and effective working relationships with all internal and external customers
· Complete other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Degree in Accounting or Accounting related field, with a minimum five (5) years direct accounting work with substantial knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting. CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
