SUMMARY
Provide intake coordination and recruitment tasks for Treatment Foster Care in the Northern and Fredericksburg Region. Provide comprehensive services consistent with Shineforth’s wraparound philosophy and practice principles for children and families consistent with agency and licensing standards and professional ethics.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in social work or related field with a minimum of one-year direct service experience or a Baccalaureate degree in social work or related field and two years direct service experience. Demonstrated ability to apply sound casework and counseling skills, understand treatment modalities and their implications for services to families and youth.
Intake Duties
- Arrange and attend weekly intake meetings to assess client needs and program availability.
- Responsible for matching clients referred to the Treatment Foster Care Program with appropriate families.
- Collaborate with team members throughout the Northern Region to ensure placement requirements are met.
- Develop relationships and know resource family strengths and needs throughout the Northern Region. Coordinate pre-placement visits.
- Obtain relevant information on prospective clients for evaluation and placement.
- Update referral sources regularly regarding the status of their clients.
- Complete all required documentation and reports for clients as prescribed by Agency or licensing standards.
- Review medical, psychological, psychiatric and social information and prior service plans to determine the appropriate level of needed service.
- Secure supplementary information such as psychiatric evaluations, medical records or school reports.
- Maintain effective presence within the external professional community and referral network by representing the agency in a positive and professional manner to market and or sustain services.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective internal and external work relationships through communicating effectively to a variety of diverse groups/individuals.
Recruitment Activities
- Conduct community-based recruitment efforts to identify and engage prospective foster and adoptive families.
- Represent the agency at outreach events, information sessions, and community presentations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, organizations, and referral sources to support recruitment efforts.
- Collaborate with supervisor and marketing team to support outreach strategies and materials.
- Track and follow up on recruitment inquiries and leads in a timely manner.
- Participate in foster parent information sessions and trainings.
- Explore and implement strategies to increase recruitment through both in-person and virtual engagement.
- Participate in monthly recruiter group meetings to share ideas, learn best practices, and support continuous growth.
- Provide occasional evening and weekend support for recruitment events and activities.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service through the cultivation of relationships with key referral sources.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with agency and licensing standards.
- Conduct presentations and trainings to Shineforth staff and/or community organizations as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
