Position Summary:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Service Inventory Parts Clerk to join our team in Columbia, MD! In this hands-on role, you'll support the coordination and fulfillment of service-related inventory orders, partnering with Field Service, Corporate Service, and System Integration Testing teams to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Processing and tracking Field Service Parts and System Integration & Testing orders with speed and accuracy.
• Coordinating with Service Operations shipping team lead, Inventory & Logistics team lead, and Regional Field service teams.
• Staging, Picking, and Assembling Preventive Maintenance Kits.
• Managing records and closing orders using Microsoft Great Plains.
• Storing records properly, keeping work area in compliance with Company regulations.
• Running reports, monitoring stock levels, and participating in Monthly physical inventory Cycle Count.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous inventory, logistics, or order processing experience preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required; experience with Great Plains is a plus.

• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 60 lbs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

This non-exempt, full-time position offers a starting salary range of $44,000 to $46,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage.

In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you’ll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66 2/3% for weeks 7 to 12.

As a non-exempt role, you will also be eligible for overtime and double time pay according to employee handbook guidelines. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
