Compensation: $130k–$160k base meaningful equity
Stage: Series A ($11M raised)
The Company
Our client is building the next-generation operating system for commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing suppliers and subcontractors.
Over the past year, their V1 quoting product has scaled to 250 quotes per day and $1.5M ARR, with adoption across many of the top suppliers in North America. Fresh off an $11M Series A led by top construction-tech investors, the company is entering its next phase of growth, with engineering at the core of everything ahead.
They are building deeply technical systems that power real-time collaboration and mission-critical workflows across commercial construction.
The Role
They are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to help scale a fast-growing real-time collaboration platform.
You will join a small, high-caliber engineering team and own complex features end-to-end, from frontend experience through backend services and infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building production-grade systems that must be fast, reliable, and maintainable under real customer load.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship complex features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure with a strong focus on correctness, performance, and reliability
- Contribute to system design, making thoughtful tradeoffs around scalability, complexity, and maintainability
- Own services in production, including debugging, observability improvements, and iteration based on real usage
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions
- Write clean, well-tested code and help define standards around testing, CI/CD, and system reliability
What They’re Looking For
You are comfortable taking a loosely defined product goal and turning it into a production-ready feature across the stack. You have strong instincts for reliability and performance, enjoy working close to customers, and like shipping, measuring, and hardening real systems.
Required Experience
- 1 year of industry software development experience
- Strong experience with TypeScript, React or Next.js, Node.js, and Python
- Backend and infrastructure experience with AWS (or similar), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or PostgreSQL
- Solid understanding of concurrency and distributed systems, including clustered or multi-user environments
- Experience ensuring frontend reliability and performance optimization
- Familiarity with monitoring and testing tools such as Sentry, Fullstory, Posthog, Cypress, or Playwright
Nice to Have
- Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Pulumi
- Open-source contributions or experience defining engineering best practices
- Experience building interactive or collaborative tools such as real-time editors or whiteboard-style products
- Startup experience, especially during periods of rapid scaling
