Position Overview
With limited supervision, the Service Technician will diagnose and troubleshoot issues to perform maintenance and repair of complex construction equipment safely and professionally.
Position Expectations and Competencies
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues to performing repairs and maintenance of construction equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other tools.
- Maintain positive customer relations through professional interactions with customers
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to all safety procedures
- Prepare new and used equipment for rent or sale
- Communicate with the lead technician and/or service manager for equipment maintenance requirements and inventory of repair parts and tools
- Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis, as well as documentation of labor
- Pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other locations for purchase and/or repair
Requirements
- Must own tools applicable to the position
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools that require mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
- Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, and knowledge of schematics and diagrams
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
- High school diploma or equivalent, trade school training preferred
- Welding certification is a plus
