What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookseller position at Shermans of Rockland?
Like to read books? Like to talk about books? The Rockland branch of Sherman's Maine Coast Book Shop has an opening for a full-time year-round bookseller position. Must be available to work at least one weekend day.
As a bookseller, you would be responsible for:
- Helping customers find and order books and merchandise
- Receiving and shelving books
- Cashiering
- Regularly restocking, organizing, and maintaining displays and bookshelves
- Cleaning
- Transferring products to other locations through our computers
The ideal applicant must be able to:
- Provide impeccable customer service
- Use computers comfortably
- Be on their feet all day
- Climb ladders
- Lift heavy boxes (40 lbs)

This is a fast-paced retail environment that requires excellent multitasking skills and a sense of humor. Previous retail experience and computer proficiency preferred. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and reliable.
